Abstract

Key Word : Parents, Level, Achievement The thesis discussed correlation between parents‟ education level background and students‟ English learning achievement. The study was aimed at responding the following question: (1) how is the parents‟ education level background at 7th grade of student of MTs NU 13 Ar-Rahmat Sukorejo-Kendal in the academic year 2016/2017?, (2) how is the students‟ English learning achievement at 7th grade of students of MTs NU 13 Ar-Rahmat Sukorejo-Kendal in the academic year 2016/2017?, (3)Is there significant correlation between parents‟ education level background and students‟ English learning achievement at 7th grade of students of MTs NU 13 Ar-Rahmat Sukorejo-Kendal in the academic year 2016/2017? The objectives of study was discribe parents‟ education level background and students‟ English learning achievement and find out the correlation between parents‟ education level background and students‟ English learning achievement at seventh grade of MTs NU 13 Ar-Rahmat Sukorejo-Kendal in the academic year of 2016/2017. In order to achieve the objective of the study, the data were collected through documentation and questionnaire. The researcher analyzes the data by single correlation using product moment formula. The result of the analysis is interpreted to find out the correlation between parents education level background and students English learning achievement at the seventh grade students of MTs NU 13 Ar-Rahmat Sukorejo-Kendal. The study showed that: (1)Parents‟ education level background was considered low category. It can be seen from the average value of parent‟s education level background was 49,58; it is on the interval 43 – 49. (2)The average value of student‟s achievement in English learning was 74,643 it is on the interval 43 – 49. So, the English learning achievement was categorized well. (3)In this research, it was found that there was significant correlation between parent‟s education level background and student‟s English learning achievement. It could be seen from correlation result that the r count 0,652. However this correlation were enough.
