Abstract

Tria Noviyanti (14.12.21.016) The Relationship of Positive Thinking to Self-Efficacy Ex. Female Prostitute in Surakarta’s Wanodyatama Women's Social Service Institution. Study Program of Islamic Counseling Guidance, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Dakwah IAIN Surakarta 2018. Keywords: Positive Thinking, Self-Efficacy Every individual has their own problems similar to those experienced by ex-prostitutes at the Women's Social Services Institution Wanodyatama Surakarta. Negative thoughts result in a decreasing level of Self-efficacy and affect one’s psychological and physical health. For prostitutes, the role of family, community, and friends contribute to the recovery process of their psychological health. According to Bachtiar 2018: 30, positive thinking is a useful activity which can help one makes a decision or result in something that is useful, not only for yourself but also for the benefit of other people. Therefore the purpose of the research is to know relationship of positive thingking to self-efficacy for ex-prostitutes in the woman’s social care center Wanodyatama Surakarta. The research method for this study is Correlational and quantitative. The subjects are 50 former sex workers commercially rehabilitated at the Wanodyatama women's social care institution using a random sampling technique. A questionnaire was used for the positive thinking scale and the self-efficacy scale produced a reliability coefficient of 0, 967 from 30 valid items. Product Moment correlation technique was used for the data analysis with the help of SPSS Version 21.00. The results of the study showed a significant relationship between positive thinking and self-efficacy, producing r count of 0, 800 and r table of 0, 278 while N = 50 at a significant level of 5%. Thusthe r count = 0, 800 > r table = 0, 278, then h0 is rejected and h1accepted, which means there is a positive relationship of positive thinkingwith self-efficacy for ex-prostitutes in Wanodyatama Surakarta.
