Thesis: Early Childhood Islamic Education Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teaching Sciences, IAIN Surakarta, 2018 Advisor: Dr.Retno Wahyuningsih S.Pd, M.Pd Keywords: Geometry Ability, Beams and Puzzles This research is motivated by the problem of obstacles in the ability to recognize geometry, children are difficult to recognize and distinguish geometric shapes. The introduction of geometry through beam and Puzzle media is a simple medium. The objectives to be achieved in this study are: 1). To find out the ability to know geometry in early childhood using beam media at TKIT Bina Madina. 2). To find out the ability to know geometry using Puzzle media at TKIT Bina Madina. 3). To determine the effect of beam learning media on early childhood on the ability to recognize geometry at TKIT Bina Madina Gedongan Colomadu. This study uses a quantitative method with an experimental approach. This research was conducted at TKIT Bina Madina Gedongan Colomadu in 2018/2019 school year. The population of this study were all students of TKIT Bina Madina Gedongan Colomadu, amounting to 80 students. The sampling technique used was Cluster sampling, with a sample of 40 students. Data collection uses the test method. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by the Mann- Whitney U-Test formula. The results of the study can be concluded: 1) the ability to recognize geometry by using beam media in TKIT Bina Madina in high category with a percentage of 55% with an average of 20.3, 2) the ability to know geometry using Puzzle media in TKIT Bina Madina in the medium category with a percentage 35% with an average of 12.9, 3) the comparative results of the U-test showed that the value was large (Calculate 0 <Utabel 114) with a significant level of 5%, there was a media effect on the ability to recognize geometry at TKIT Bina Madina in the 2017/2018 academic year. Media beam affects the ability to recognize geometry in early childhood, with these media children can recognize symbolically according to the form.
