Keywords : Textbook, Curriculum, Content Analysis Textbook isuses term of “coursebook” and explains that textbook is book that contains of the main material of a course and it is the source of teaching matter for teaching and learning proccess ongoing (Tomlinson, 1998: 9). In the field of education, textbook is used for teaching matter and reference book. Textbook provides ready made teaching text and learning task. Textbook has shortage like the content material is not suitable with the objectives of the book. This research is about A Content Analysis of “When English Rings a Bell” English Textbook in 2013 Curriculum for the Seventh Grade of Junior High School. The aims of this research are to find out the suitability of impressionistic analysis and in-depth analysis on the textbook analysis entitled “When English Rings a Bell” used for the seventh grade of Junior High School. The researcher used content analysis with descriptive qualitative approach. The subject of this research was the textbook entitled “When English Rings a Bell” itself. The data was collected by documenting the content materials on the textbook. The data were analysed by reducing the data, presenting the data, and taking the conclusion and verification by using Miles and Hubberman’s theory. The data was analysed using Cunningsworth’s theory. The researcher used the theory of scoring analysis suggested by Solikhah. This research used theoretical triangulation to get an appropriate data. This result showed that an English textbook entitled “When English Rings a Bell” fulfilled the criteria proposed in Cunningsworth’s theory concerning the impressionistic/ surface textbook analysis with score 70 % and in-depth textbook analysis with the summative score 60 %. From those summative scores, the textbook was categorized as a good enough textbook and suitable enough to use as media in teaching and learning process. Based on those findings, the researcher has suggestion for teacher, publisher and the coming researcher.
