Abstract

ABSTRACT Parenting style in instilling adolescent religiosity is important because it can influence adolescent development. Parenting adolescents is an important and fundamental part of preparing youth to become good human beings. The purpose of this research is to describe the parenting style of parents in instilling religiosity in adolescents in Kebonagung village, Sragen. While the formulation of the problem of this research is how parenting parents in instilling the religiosity of adolescents in the village of Kebonagung Sragen. The research method used is qualitative-phenomenology. The research subjects were 4 pairs of parents consisting of 4 fathers and 4 mothers, with the subject characteristics of both parents aged 45-49 years, parents' education level was high school, the minimum number of children was 2-3, adolescents aged 18- 21 years. Subjects were selected through a purposive sampling technique who are also residents of the village of Kebonagung, Sragen. Data collection by semistructured interviews and observation. The data were analyzed using the Moustakas analysis technique, while the validity of the data was assessed by extending the observations, time triangulation, method triangulation and source triangulation. The results of research on parenting in instilling religiosity in adolescents in the village of Kebonagung, Sragen are through three aspects of parenting. First, the aspect of applying rules in the family, all subjects provide care in the form of habituation and religious values. Second, the aspect of affection in the family is in the form of giving attention and praise. Third, the aspect of communication between adolescents and parents is in the form of familiarity between parents and adolescents. In this study it was found that in instilling religiosity adolescents have exemplary aspects, habituation and freedom in instilling religiosity in adolescents. Likewise, there are factors supporting parenting patterns in parents, namely socioeconomic factors, personality factors, religious knowledge factors.
