Abstract

ABSTRACT In the definitive way, management of Islamic institutions is the process of managing the Islamic institution, such as madrassa Islamic schools, boarding schools and higher education institutions Islam by applying Islam (Qur'an and Hadith) as a basis to produce a quality and competitive institution. Islamic educational institutions have special characteristics that differentiate with other educational institutions, so that it is necessary to have management specifically also. Raudhatul Athfal (RA) is a formal educational institution under the auspices of the Ministry of Religious Affairs organized early childhood education (ECD). The purpose of the study is to determine 1) the management agency, 2) factors that inhibit and support management, 3) the solution of the barriers that exist in the management of educational institutions. This study used a qualitative approach. The research was conducted at RA Siwi Karimah, Blulukan Village, Colomadu, Karanganyar, Central Java, year 2013. Subjects were principals and teachers. Informants of this study were the Foundation's board, employees, and the school committee. Data collection methods used observation, interviews and document analysis. Mechanical checks of the validity of the data used in this study were triangulation of sources and methods. Data analysis techniques in this study employed an interactive model of analysis which consisted of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion. These results 1) show the management of educational institutions of RA Siwi Karimah is generally quite good in every aspect of management, refers to the minimum service standards of early childhood education by the National Accreditation Board. 2) factors that support the management of these institutions are (a) the Principal has a vision for the future (b) the willingness of the human resources to improve themselves, and their competence, (c) human resourches is still young and (d) adequate school facilities (e) have a superior Quran learning programs. Factors that hinder management are (a) the ability of the Principal in conducting human resourches management is weak (b) not all of the existing human resources have educational background (c) the lack of transparency and accountability of financial management (d) the library has not been optimally empowered. 3) The solution of the barriers that exist in management is solved with a focus on the vision, mission and goals of the institution, by promoting its flagship program. It means that the barriers will not give a significant impact in the management of RA Siwi Karimah institutions. Keywords: management of Islamic education, Islamic education institutions
