Abstract

ABSTRACT The purposes of this study are to determine the effect of: 1) the headmaster academic supervision of the teaching quality of the teacher, 2) teacher workload to the quality of the teaching quality of teacher, 3) the headmaster academic supervision and teacher workload to the teaching quality of teacher. This research was a quantitative correlation research. This study was conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sragen in May to June 2014. Population to this study were teachers of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sragen about 46 people. Sampling technique used the total sample. Techniques of data collection used a questionnaire with the validity test of the item with the product moment formula and reability test using Cronbach alpha formula. The technique of data analysis used multiple regression analysis, which began with the assumption test that consist of normality, linearity, and multicollinearity test. The results show that: 1) by simultaneously, there is a significant difference between the academic supervision of headmasters and teacher workload to the teaching quality of teacher with the value of F (17,773) > F (4,05) with a significance of 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05, where the value is in the region of rejection Ho. The amount of donation effect is about 45.3 %. 2) partially, there is a significant difference between the academic supervision of the school headmaster to the teaching quality of teacher tcount (5,311) > ttable (2.017) at alpha 0.05 and the contribution of the effect is about 39.1%. 3) the workload of teacher on the teaching quality of teacher with tcount (-4.261) > ttable (2.017) at alpha 0.05 and the contribution of the effect is by 29.2%. while, testing the significance of regression, Y = 188.506 + 0,310X1 - 0,642X2 + e, if the headmaster academic supervision (X1) is increased by 1 point and the workload of teachers (X2) remains the value of quality teaching and increased by 0.310 and if the workload of teachers (X2) increases and the headmaster academic supervision (X1) remains, than the quality of teaching and teachers (Y) decreased by 0.642.
