Abstract

Abstract The aim of the research is to determine: 1) a relationship between a professionalism of Islamic-Education (PAI) teacher and PAI learning achievement, 2) a relationship between parental concern with PAI learning achievement, and 3) a simultaneous relatonship between PAI teacher professionalism and parental concern with PAI learning achievement of the students of the State High School 1 of Karanganyar. The method used in this research was a correlation method. The populations of the research were the students of XI grade of the State High School 1 of Karanganyar of the academic year 2013/ 2014 who were mounting to 304 students. Samples drawn used a stratified random sampling technique with a sample of 135 students. The result of the research shows that the variable of PAI teacher professionalism contributes the influence of 30.6% on PAI learning achievement at the State High School 1 of Karanganyar. It indicates that the contribution of variable effect of PAI teacher professionalism toward PAI learning achievement is quite large, while 69.4 % of it is influenced by another factor. Parental concern variable gives a contribution or a supporting effect of 40.4 % to PAI learning achievement of the students of the State High School 1 of Karanganyar. This indicates that a contribution of variable influence of parental concern is affected by another factor. Furthermore, the result of this research shows that there are simultaneous influence of PAI teacher professionalism and parental concern toward PAI learning achievement. The multiplied regression analysis output has a value of Rү12 0.590 with the multiplied regression significance F 8.535 and the multiplied linear regression equation Y= 9.167 + 0.115 X1 + 0.007 X2. These results simultaneously demonstrate the importance of PAI teacher professionalism variable (X1) and parental concern variable (X2) to improve PAI learning achievement (Y). Both variables can be explained simultaneously that the variance of PAI learning achievement is 40.8 % and the coefficient of correlation is 0.590. This research concludes that 1) PAI teacher professionalism proved significantly affects the variable of PAI learning achievement, 2) parental concern proved significantly affects the variable of PAI learning achievement, and 3) the variable of PAI teacher professionalism and parental concern proved significantly affects toward the variable of PAI learning achievement.
