Abstract

The study aims to analyze the effect of heterogeneity of directors in proxies with functional background, educational background and age background to underpricing when Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2014-2017. While for control variable in research cover board size, company size, age of company, underwriter reputation and industry type. The independent variable isunderpricing. The type of research is quantitative. The research was conducted on companies conducting Initial Public Offering (IPO). Sampling technique in this research by using purposive sampling method. The data used in research is secondary data. The population instudy covers all companies that conduct IPO in the year 2014-2017 and obtained a sample of 58 companies doing IPO. Data analysis to test the hypothesis used multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that the background functional, educational background and age background have no significant effect on underpricing, while for control variables covering board size, firm size, age of company, underwriter reputation and industry type have no significant effect on underpricing.
