Key words : This study is aimed to know the extrovert personality at the Second Semester of English Education Department the State Institute of Surakarta in Academic Year 2017/2018, to know the students’ speaking achievement at the Second Semester of English Education Department the State Institute of Surakarta in Academic Year 2017/2018, and to determine the correlation between: Extrovert Personality and Students’ Speaking Achievement at the Second Semester of English Education Department the State Institute of Surakarta in Academic Year 2017/2018. This study was carried out in March up to April 2018. The method which is used in this study is correlation research. The population of this research was all of the Second Semester of English Education Department the State Institute of Surakarta in Academic Year 2017/2018 at State Institute of Surakarta which consists of fifth classes at the Second Semester of English Education Department the State Institute of Surakarta in Academic Year 2017/2018 from English Education Department (PBI) A, B, C, D, and E Class. The total of the students is 165 students. The sample is 66 students which is taken 40% from the population and taken by cluster random sampling technique. The classes chosen are PBI C and D Class. The instruments in collecting the data were questionnaire and test. The questionnaire was used to collect the data of the extrovert personality; while the test is used to collect the data of students’ speaking achievement. In analyzing the data, the researcher used Pearson Product Moment Formula manually and used SPSS. The results of the study show that the first; the average or mean of extrovert personality is 126.12 and the mode is 132, the second; the average or mean of students’ speaking achievement is 80.89 and the mode is 85, and the third; there is positive correlation between extrovert personality and students’ speaking achievement because the coefficient of correlation robtained is higher than rtable (0.529 > 0.244). Regarding the result of the research, it can be concluded that extrovert personality have a positive correlation toward students’ speaking achieveent. Therefore, extrovert personality should be considered in increasing students’ speaking achievement, although students’ speaking achievement doesn’t completely depend on the extrovert personality variable.
