Abstract

ABSTRACT Moch. Abi Qotadah, 2014. Implementation of the Academic Supervision of Islamic Education of Primary Schools in District Banjarsari Surakarta. The purpose of this study is to determine; (a) implementation of the academic supervision of Islamic religious education, (b) the supporting and inhibiting factors and academic supervision solutions of elementary schools in District Banjarsari Surakarta. This research used qualitative research methods. The study was conducted in primary schools working area of the District Banjarsari Surakarta in February-March 2014. The subjects of this study were the supervisor of Islamic education. As informants in this study were principals and teachers of Islamic religious education. Data collection technique used observation, documentation and interview. Checking of the data validity used triangulation techniques and methods. Data analysis technique was conducted by an interactive model consists of: data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results show: (1) Implementation of academic supervision by supervisors of Islamic religious education of primary schools in District Banjarsari Surakarta pursued through three components: (a) supervision process includes; preparation of the surveillance program, coaching, mentoring, development of Islamic Education Teachers Profession, implementation of national standards of Islamic education and supervisory reporting. (b) the academic supervision style used is style democracy (c) technical / supervisory methods include; technique of direct and indirectvisits. (2) Supporting factors of the academic supervision are : (a) the number of teachers having strong desire to go forward; (b) easy access to reach the location of surveillance; (c) the effectiveness of the presence of PAI KKG SD; (d) the number of teachers who have mastered the electronic media. Obstacles faced in the implementation of the academic supervision of Islamic education are : (a) the number of schools and teachers fostered too much; (b) the limited time availability of inspectors; (c) Lack of supervision Academic of Competence Development Supervisor. To overcome these obstacles, we need some solutions, namely: (a) recruitment and increasing the number of inspectors PAI; (b) planning program monitoring more mature and effective; (c) efforts to provide guidance to supervisors, including through monitoring and evaluation of the planning and implementation of programs conducted by supervisor in school.
