Abstract

ABSTRACT Rizky Dwicahyo Wulaningrum, 133221247, Teachers’ Technique in Teaching Speaking of English Club for the Tenth Grade Students of MAN Karanganyar in the Academic Year 2016/2017, A Thesis English Education Department, Islamic Education and Teacher Training Faculty, The State Islamic Institute of Surakarta, Surakarta 2017. Advisor : Novianni Anggraini, M. Pd Keyword : Technique, Teaching, Speaking, English Program The aim of this research are (1) to describe the technique used by the teacher in English club at the tenth grade students of MAN Karanganyar in the academic year 2016/2017, (2) to explore the teachers’ technique implementation of English club in speaking activity for the tenth grade students of MAN Karanganyar in the academic year 2016/2017. This research conducted at Tenth Grade Students of English Club at MAN Karanganyar in The Academic Year 2016/ 2017. The subject of this research were the teacher and the students of English Club. The researcher used the descriptive qualitative research design. The data were collected from the observation and interview. The researcher took the observation to know the real teaching learning process of English Club. The collected data were analyzed by using data reduction, data presentation, and data conclusion. This research used source triangulation to check validity of the data. The researcher conducted on April until July 2017. The result of this research shows that technique used by the teacher are interview technique, discussion technique, role play technique, and picture describing technique. The process of teaching are opening, main activity, and closing. The material is given to the students made by the teacher herself. The students not only learnt and practice in theory but emphasize in practice especially in speaking skill to communicate and interact with others. The media used in teaching learning process are whiteboard, pictures, laptop, and LCD Projector.
