Keywords :Experimental Research, Blogging Videos, Teaching, Speaking, The Eighth Grade Students The main objective of this research is to find out whether there is or not a significant difference of student‟s speaking between students who are taught by vlog and those who are taught by blog. The hypothesis of this study is there is any significant difference of speaking between students taught by using vlog and those taught by blog. The researcher used vlog in teaching speaking at the eighth grade students of SMP Al-Islam 1 Surakarta in the academic year 2017/2018. The research method was experimental research (pretest-posttest group design). In taking the sample, the writer used purposive sampling technique. The sample of the research was the eighth grade students of VIII A as the experimental class and VIII B as the control class. Each of them consised of 25 students for experimental class, and 26 students for control class. The data were in the form of quantitative data and they were taken from speaking test before having three times treatment for each class (pretest), and speaking test after having three times treatment for each class (posttest). The data were analyzed by using T-test formula. It is used to determine whether there was a significant difference between the average score of the experimental and the control class or not. The mean score of the experimental class was , while the mean score of control class was. It means that the students who are taught by using vlog have better than those who are taught by using blog. Result of tvalue (8.333) which is higher than ttable (2.056) or tvalue > ttable. It showed that to was higher than tt (to>tt). Therefore, the alternative Hypothesis (Ha) was accepted while the Null Hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. It means that, there is a significant difference in student‟s speaking between students who are taught by using vlog and those who are taught by using blog. Based on the result findings, it can be concluded that the use of vlog in teaching speaking is effective. Therefore, vlog can be implemented as one of the effective media of teaching to teach speaking.
