Abstract

This research is intended to determine: (1) Principal’s commitment in improving teachers’ performance at MIM puluhan trucuk klaten, (2) Effects of the implementation of Principal’s commitment in improving teachers’ performance at MIM puluhan trucuk klaten, (3) Obstacles of the implementation of Principal’s commitment in improving teachers’ performance at MIM puluhan trucuk klaten, 4) Solutions of those obstacles. This research used descriptive qualitative method. This research was conducted at MIM Puluhan Trucuk Klaten from September to November 2017. Subject of this research was the Principal.Informants were Deputy chief of curriculum, teachers, Assembly of Dikdasmen Muhammadiyah of Trucuk, parents, and supervisor of school. Technique of collecting data applied in- deptinterview observation, and documentation. Techniques of data validity used triangulation of source and method. Techniques of data analysis used interactive model encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion or verification. The results of this research reveal that implementation of principal’s commitment in improving teachers’ performance at MIM Puluhan Trucuk Klaten can be described by observing: (1) Implementation of Principal’s commitment at MIM Puluhan Trucuk Klaten is conducted by planning supervision schedule and holding assessment of teacher performance result; (2) Effects of the implementation of Principal’s commitment on teachers’ performance quality are teacher may arrange syllabus and teaching and learning plan independently by using ICT; (3) Difficulties in the implementation of Principal’s commitment on teachers’ performance development are; some of them have not made teaching plan, lack of discipline and coming late, also cannot supervise the class due to business trip; (4) Solutions of those difficulties are to have a deal in visiting class, to conduct the guidance for the teachers, to supervise the classes and to delegate Vice Principal and senior teachers.
