Abstract

Lilis Puji Hastuti. 2017. Student’s Learning Strategies in Composing Recount Text Writing on the Eight Year Student’s of MTs Negeri Karanganyar in the Academic Year of 2016/2017. Thesis. English Letters Study Program, Islamic Education and Teacher Training Faculty. Advisor : Novianni Anggraini S.Pd M.Pd Key Words : Student’s Strategies, Composing, Recount Text Writing There are some problems that the researcher found. First the difficulties in composing recount text faced by the student’s of Eight Year Student’s of MTs Negeri Karanganyar in the Academic Year of 2016/2017. Second, Learning Strategies in Composing Recount Text Writing Used by the Eight Year Students of MTs Negeri Karanganyar in the Academic Year of 2016/2017. The research design of this studys Descriptive Qualitative, the purpose of this research is to help student’s learning and understanding the recount text easily. By using Qualitative method the researcher identifies and describes the difficulties faced by student’s and strategies used to compose recount text writing by eight year student’s of MTs Negeri Karanganyar. Strategies of writing have the correlation or matching toward Brown’s theory about some aspect of meta-cognitive strategies, cognitive strategies, cognitive strategies and socio-affective strategies. Result findings of this study concluded that (1) There are some difficulties faced by the student’s in composing recount text. They student’s have insufficient background knowledge that makes them become passive participant who only recieve the information from the teacher. (2) There are some technique used by students of eight year of MTs Negeri Karanganyar. First is brainstroming. Second is free writing. Third is W-H Question. Fourth is clustering and fifth is planning
